General Session Information

When you teach, program a website, or make a document, who you are reaching and who is left behind?

More than 20% of UC Davis students, faculty, and staff have a disability that impacts how they learn or interact with technology (based on data from the CDC in 2012). If our courses, websites, and materials are not accessible, these members of the UC Davis communty are left behind.

The UC Davis Electronic Accessibility Committee invites the campus community to attend Global Accessibility Awareness Day on May 18th to build your awareness and knowledge of digital (web, software, mobile, etc.) accessibility and users with different disabilities. The University of California is committed to providing electronic materials that are accessible to everyone (learn more about the UC electronic accessibility policy). If you work with students or instructors, maintain a website, or distribute materials, please join us to learn more about electronic accessibility and what you can do to reach everyone.

Refreshments will be provided.

If you need accommodations in order to fully participate in this event, please email the GAAD event planning committee at accessibleevent@ucdavis.edu.

This event is sponsored by the UC Davis Office of Campus Community Relations, the Electronic Accessibility Committee, the Center for Educational Effectiveness, Human Resources, Student Disability Center and Academic Technology Services.
