Share Your Story: 
Real access Media Project (RaMP)

We're building a collection of real voices from our campus community, and we'd love to include yours.

We're inviting students, employees, alumni, and member of the UC Davis community to record a brief video testimonial (2–5 minutes) for our Accessibility website. Your story can help a student discover a tool they didn't know existed, or help a staff member feel seen and supported.

You can use the guidance provided below or just make your own statement. There's no wrong way to talk about your experience, we're just grateful to have your perspective!

When you're done, please upload your video to our RAMP Box Folder so we can add captions and prepare it for our website.

What to cover (in your own words, no script needed):

1. Who are you?
   Share your name, your role (student, staff, department, year; whatever feels right), and a little about what you do, either for UC Davis currently, or your past relationship with UCD.
2. What assistive technologies or accommodations do you use?
   This might include screen readers, captioning, extended time, note-taking support, voice recognition software, ergonomic tools, alternative formats, anything that helps you do your best work or learning.
3. Why does accessibility matter to you?
   This is your moment. Tell us what accessibility has changed for you, what it means to participate fully in campus life, or what you wish more people understood.
4. Leave us with a statement or call to action.
   Is there something you want students, staff, or university leadership to do, think about, or change? End with a message an ask, a challenge, a word of encouragement, or simply what you'd say to someone who's just starting to learn about accessibility.

Filming Tips:

• Record in a quiet, well-lit space (facing a window works great)
• Use your phone or laptop camera, no fancy equipment needed
• Look at the camera when you can, and speak at your natural pace
• Aim for 2–5 minutes; shorter is totally fine
• A brief re-record is always okay. Just be yourself

Accessibility Note:

If video format doesn't work for you, we welcome written testimonials, audio recordings, or other formats. We want your voice included, whatever form that takes.

• Do I have to attend or work for UC Davis currently?
• No! We love to hear from alumni or any member of the UC Davis community.
• Should I add captions to my video?
• No. Video submissions will be uploaded to Aggie Video, where we will add closed captions.
• What if I need help?
• Send an email to the Digital Accessibility Program Manager.
• Why does RaMP have a lower case a?
• The lower case a in RaMP recognizes that Accessibility, with a capital A, is a proper noun, referring to legal and technical compliance. While this is an important goal, RaMP is an effort toward representing access: not just technical compliance, but all the tools and efforts that help Dis/abled community members thrive every day.
